# Worldwide Syllabuses

## International Baccalaureate (IB) Program.

### IB presumed knowledge

The sections "Algebra" and "Linear Equations" covers some of the presumed knowledge for IB Maths Studies, but I can recommend that students should also cover the first seven pages of "Quadratics. Students planning to take Maths Standard Level or Higher Level are recommended to cover all of the Quadratics section.

### IB Maths Studies

The sections Algebra and Linear Equations are part of the syllabus. The first six pages shall help cover the quadratics part of the syllabus.

### IB Maths Standard Level and Higher Level

The quadratics sections covers the quadratics section of the Standard and Higher Level syllabus. The higher level exams questions however are much more sophisticated. Ideally students should have covered the quadratics course during pre-IB year and then practice IB questions on quadratics during the first year of IB.

## England/United Kingdom

### Cambridge IGCSE and GCSE

The Quadratics sections covers quadratic equations in greater depth than what is required for the IGCSE syllabus, and students are recommended to study only the first 7 pages. The Algebra sections covers some of the syllabus and the Linear Equations section covers all of the syllabus. This must also apply to other examining boards but I am not familiar with them.

## Sweden/Sverige

### Maths B/Matte B

All three sections are relevant to Maths B. The Algebra section will enable you to aquire the knowledge to solve A level questions, however a student should also practice some past exam questions to get used to the questioning style. Typically, Swedish text books don't really show students how to tackle A level questions and there is limited time in class to practice difficult questions, so this website can fill that gap.

## United States

### Algebra 1

The Algebra and Linear Equations section have a level similar to Algebra 1.

### Algebra 2

The Quadratics section has a level similar to Algebra 2.

## Rest of the World

Linear and Quadratic equations are studied during grades 9-11 in most mathematics course around the world, and this website is relevant to many courses.
